![]() 2010 ABMC SpecialtyBelgian Malinois 2010 SpecialtyTuesday May 11, 2010 - Sunday May 16, 2010Patricia SnowI would like to express my thanks to the Belgian Malinois Club for this opportunity to judge your lovely Sweepstakes entries. It is indeed an honor, and I'm truly excited about this assignment. I have had Belgian Sheepdogs for 30+ years. Our kennel name is La Neige Belgians, La Neige being the French word for Snow. My husband jokingly translates it as "Mrs. Snow's Belgians", but he enjoys the dogs also ......... especially the puppies. I do not breed often, but when I do, it is for specific reasons that I feel will result in puppies that can make a positive contribution to the breed. I have bred 2 Best In Show dogs, 3 dogs who have been ranked #1 in all breed and/or breed points, and 5 dogs ranked # 3 or better in all breed points. Our first BIS dog was BIS AM & CAN CH La Neige's Charming Duchess, a bitch, who has 4 Best In Shows and is tied for the honor of the top winning dog in the history of the breed for Belgian Sheepdogs. Our recent BIS winner is BIS CH La Neige's A Kodak Moment, who is owned by Connie and Tim Jasinski. We also bred and showed CH La Neige's Talk Of The Town (Dazzle) who achieved a #1 year end ranking in all breed points. Our only Malinois, CH Snotrecks Inchallah Red Alert (Reddy) was a wonderful dog, who made a great impression on many, many judges. Reddy was the #1 Malinois, in all breed points, the one year that I showed him ....... but to this day, I still have judges who come up to me and want to talk about him. Reddy also went to the Malinois National Specialty, in Scottsdale, Arizona, that year and was BOS to the lovely veteran bitch. When first starting with Belgians, I showed in both conformation and obedience. However, when my time became restricted, I decided to concentrate on conformation ...... which was my first love. Growing up showing Quarter Horses, and then Arabians, it was easy to transfer that structural knowledge and eye for type, to the dog world. I have been a member of the Belgian Sheepdog Club of America since 1984. In 2006, I served as show chairman for the National Specialty, "A Belgian Stampede", held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Have also served on various committees throughout my membership. I am also a member of the Trinity Valley Belgian Sheepdog Club. Again, I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and your beautiful dogs.
