Susie's Biography

I became involved with the Belgian Malinois breed in 1993 when I acquired
our foundation bitch, Ch U-CD Crocs-Blancs’ Volcanic Ash CD, MX, OAJ, ASCA
CD, AD, NAC, RS-N, PD1, HCT, TT, TDI, CGC ROM First Class, “Ashley” (1996
Westminster Kennel Club Best of Breed Winner). Ashley was an amazing
introduction to the breed that has captured our hearts. Under the kennel
MERSON, my husband Kevin and I have bred over 30 conformation champions,
multiple High In Trial winners in obedience & herding, AOM winners, multiple
AKC Top 5 Malinois, group winners/placers, ABMC ROM recipients, a world
freestyle champion in the sport of canine disc, a certified cadaver dog and
a lure coursing Field Champion in Australia. Hundreds of titles have been
earned by MERSON Malinois in obedience, tracking, agility, dock diving,
schutzhund, herding, disc dog competitions, etc. A Malinois we bred was the
first Belgian to earn the Herding Champion, Master Agility Champion, Utility
Dog/Tracking Dog combination of titles. We feel the Belgian Malinois
possesses the skills to do it all and its only limitations are the
determination, dedication and desire of its owner/handler.
I handled our French import Dalí to the 2003 ABMC National Specialty Best in
Show, to multiple National Specialty & Westminster Kennel Club AOMs, AKC/UKC
group wins & placements & multiple RBIS in UKC. In 2007, Dalí earned her
Mexican & FCI World Championships at the World Dog Show in Mexico City.
I love showing our dogs in the bred-by exhibitor class and I have earned 6
medallions from the American Kennel Club for breeder/owner handled champions
. I have shown Belgians at the Westminster Kennel Club show in New York
City, the Crufts Dog Show in Birmingham, England, the World Dog Show in
Mexico City and various other shows in Finland, Germany & Spain.
I have titled Malinois in conformation, obedience and agility and I have
been a member of the ABMC since 1993.
It is truly an honor to judge the National Specialty for my breed and I
appreciate the opportunity. Thank you!
