"Ashley"
Ch U-CD Crocs-Blancs' Volcanic Ash CD, ASCA CD, MX, OAJ, NAP, NJP, AD, NAC, RS-N, PD1, HCT, TT, TDI, CGC, ROM First Class
Owner:  Susie Williamson

Hi, I'm Ashley.  This is my 8th National Specialty, my first one was in  Arizona in 1994.  I have always had a good time at each one, competing, meeting new friends, seeing old ones and visiting with relatives.  Although I have earned many titles, I'm not going to bore you all with the blah blah blah of talking about them.  I am an older girl and although a true lady doesn't typically reveal her age, I will be 15 years old on my next birthday.  I have had an incredibly blessed life - a show/performance dog, a mother/grandmother/ great-grandmother and best of all, a beloved pet and  family member.  I hope you all will keep in perspective the reason we dogs are on the face of this earth - to be friends to mankind - friends to all of  you.  The competition is fun and keen, but at the end of the day, the important thing is to cherish the relationship you share with your dog.  May
you all have long lives filled with love, just like mine. :)  signed:  Ashley

"Athena"
SOUVENIR RHAPSODY
Owner:  Donna Haworth

Athena is a young, energetic girl who is fun to live with. I'm looking forward to performance activities with her.

"Axel"
MoonQuest’s Calculated Risk
Owner:  Edie Schoepp

I often wonder what it would be like to get up each day as happy as the day before. Loving every thing and every one in your world. It isn¹t really the titles that make Axle the great dog that he is. It is his joy for life. The icing on the cake is for me....the one who gets to compete with this wonderful dog. Semi-retired at age 12, he still takes on any new challenge presented to him with gusto. Highly social with a rock solid temperament hes a true ambassador for the breed. With breeder Allyson Olson, training coach Mary Ann Nortmann and the support of hundreds of friends we have done so much together.

His list of accomplishments:  Obedience: ASCA-OTCH (Obedience Trial Champion), UKC-U-UD (Utility Dog), AKC-UD (Utility Dog),  First & Foremost #1 Malinois 2000, Multi-High-In-Trial, High-Combined, Super Utility Certificate, Utah's first dual agility/obedience champion.  Rally Obedience: RAE-Rally Advanced Excellent (2nd dog in Utah).  Agility: NADAC-NATCH (Agility Trial Champion), Superior-EGC, Superior-EJC, Superior-EAC, 8th Place Veterans Division at NADAC World Championships 2004, USDAA-PII (Performance Dog II), Attended 2001 USDAA world championships, AKC-AXP, AXJP.  Schutzhund: AD, BH, TR1 (Endurance,Traffic, Tracking).  Drafting: Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America NDD (Novice Draft Dog).  Misc:  GCG, TT, Model-Ski Utah Magazine Ad, Actor in Touched by An Angel Episode.

"Banner"

Carousel's Stars and Stripes
Owner:  Catherine Shields

Also known as Banner, Tessa's grandson. No titles, and the national will be his first ever show! When I bred the litter Banner came from, I was looking for a girl pup to help heal my heart from the horrible loss of my dog Rave. Well I found the healer of my heart, he just came with different plumbing.Banner makes me smile, he is full of pure joy in life. And while I will never forget Rave, and never stop missing her, I now cant imagine my life with out this silly BOY dog.Banner also has a namesake; the very first malinois I ever met in person was Donna Haworth's Banner, he sold me on the breed, I hoped that my malinois would be just like him. I hope that Banner and I honor the memory of his great, great Uncle Ch Souvenir Magnifique CD HCTs

"Callie"
CH Ame Vaillante De Burkey UDT MX MXJ CGC OAOAP DELTA THERAPY DOG
Owner:  Connie Shown

Callie is my hero and best friend.  She is now 8 yrs old and still competes occasionally in agility and working toward a TDX - hopefully soon.  Her real passion is the work she does once or twice a week with a classroom of 25 7th & 8th grade special needs kids.  They come from homes where there is little or no emotional support from families.  Callie spends time doing whatever the teacher thinks would benefit the kids from one on one reading out loud to stealing items from their desks and expecting a thank you and treat (which her owner supplies), to emotional support. This year they, two at a time if they have their work completed,  get to go out in the hall with us and learn how to train and have Callie do her wide repertoire of obedience work, parlor tricks, and the one they all like to do is the scent discrimination with her articles.  They scent the articles and one of them is the “ring steward” and do the exercise.  Sometime the “stewards” are very creative at placing the articles - like stacking them on top of each other, etc - but Callie has got the right one  every time.  Last year a girl came into the classroom very angry, throwing her pack, not talking to anyone including her teacher.  They were going to call the counselors and police but she muttered “I want Callie”.  This girl and been bitten by a German Shepherd twice and was afraid of dogs her brother told us.  I sat on the table by her and let Callie “work” her form of love and therapy.  At first the girl just held Callie’s head, then very gradually put her head on top of Callie’s and started crying.  After a couple minutes she talked to the teacher as long as she could touch Callie.  We didn’t have to call for any other help although the girl had to be taken out of her home and put in foster care after that.  These are just a few of the reasons Callie is my hero!

"Cayenne"

"Celeste"
CH Bull Mtns Celestial Wishes UD RE AX AXJ PT STDs
Owner:  Suzanne Belger

Celeste is our first malinois and she has surpassed all of our expectations.  No matter what you ask her to try she will do it with enthusiasm and heart.  We continually set the bar higher and she continues to clear it with ease.  She has succeeded in all that we have tried from the breed ring to the herding arena.  While, we enjoying working her greatest gift is as my companion.  She is a once in a life time dog that can and does do it all.

"Danno"
Danno ot Vitosha
Owner:  Anne Camper

Danno is now nearly 10 years old and is now retired, but it seems like yesterday when I flew to San Francisco to bring him home. Together we have accomplished so very much - he earned his SchH 3, IPO 3, FH, four NADAC agility titles, his CD, and six points (one major).  He's competed in three national schutzhund competitions.  His obedience was flashy and precise; for his CD he earned two first places and a HIT.  It was always a pleasure to go tracking with him because he enjoyed it so much.  But more importantly, he's an ambassador for the breed.  I can take him anywhere.  he excels at puppy socialization.  Others can take him to do obedience to learn how it feels to work a responsive dog.  He's also proven himself as a stud dog, having produced three litters that have been shown in the breed ring and competed in agility, rally, obedience, tracking and schutzhund.  Several of tose offspring were here at this specialty.

"Emma"
CH. ALOUETTE'S DANSEUSE
Owner:  Donna Haworth and Kay Johnson

Emma is a special girl who finished her championship by 14 months of age. She was bred by Kathy Greenwood and comes from a direct female line of my original Malinois, CH. Souvenir O'Crocs-Blancs, UD. Emma is embarking on her obedience career with her co-owner, Kay Johnson. She will be doing herding with me, Donna Haworth

"Fender
MoonQuest’s Fender Bender
Owner:  Edie Schoepp

A true Utah Jazz Basket ball fan, Fender sits in my lap for every game on TV. We  started his competition working career only three years ago and have had a great time together. He attained his schutzhund 1 title just a week ago, and will hopefully follow in his fathers footsteps and do some great things in tracking. He embraced the true philosophy of schutzhund: chase my bite helper friend Mike, fetch the sleeve to my mom, and get a belly rub from the bite helper and spectator friends when we are done! Fender and I will also return to the obedience ring this year to do the open and utility work that he loves so much.

Here is what we have done in competition together:  Schutzhund: Schutzhund 1, BH.  Obedience: ASCA-CD, UKC-CD.  Rally Obedience: Re-(Rally Excellent). Herding: 1st leg of HCT test.

"Jesse"
CH
Owner:  Marion Erp

Jesse has been my constant companion and teammate for 11 years, and out of those, he was working up to age 10 and ½.  He earned his Championship with 3 majors and a TD in Virginia before we moved to Montana.  We worked together as a team in obedience, tracking, agility and rally, earning his VCD2 title.  He is still the only dog in Montana that has both the NADAC NATCH and AKC MACH agility championship titles.  I had planned on one more year of light showing in performance events to finish up one remaining UDX leg and 5 RAE legs, plus some Preferred agility titles, but disaster struck --  6 days before Christmas last year, I noticed he was going blind and the official diagnosis is PRA.   So today we have different challenges to face each day.  I am his eyes and his caretaker, and wouldn’t have it any other way.  He is still my wonderful companion and we will stay together, always.

"Rosie"
Souvenir Rambling Rose
Owners:  Joanne and Dave Campman

Rosie is our first Malinois and is two years old. She greets every day with an attitude of "hello world, here I am, and what kind of fun things are we going to do today." People who meet her often comment on what a happy dog she is. Rosie is very affectionate and loves everyone. We want to thank Donna Haworth and Holly Howell for such a special dog.

"Streaker"

"Tessa"
U-CDX Ch Trew Bleue Anticipation CDX RA HCTs
Owner's Name:  Catherine Shields

As I write this I hope Tessa will be at the National with me! She is doing fantastic, but at 14 yrs old every day is a gift! My first National was in 1995 – and Tessa was there with me! I was stunned yet thrilled she was Winners bitch and an Award of Merit! In 2001 we went to the National this time the Veteran bitch class was ours as well as another Award of Merit, in 2005 I was thrilled to head back to St Louis, I thought would be Tessa's last national – at 12 she was doing spectacular and was Best Veteran in Sweeps! All Wins were under Breeder Judges.Thank you to the breeders that saw in the vision and the pedigrees that made my Tessa, I'm proud of her pedigree filled with Breed Ch as well as multiple Schuzhund 3 and advanced obedience titled dogs that were also Breed Champions. Tessa is my inspiration and a devoted companion that has changed my life!

"Twistee"
CH OTCH UOCH MACH6 NATCH2 ATCH Avonlea Love 'Em N Weave 'Em UDX3 RAE TDX XF
CAN. CD MAD GM JM RM FDCH
Owner's Name: Barb Benner

Twistee has earned agility championships in AKC, NADAC, and ASCA.  In obedience competition, she has earned multiple High in Trial and High Combined awards, including two scores of 200 in Canada. In 2006 she finished her RAE MACH5 and MACH6, and completed her UKC Obedience Championship.  But to me, the most achievement of 2006 was earning her TDX, as she'd had some confidence issues in training but ran her titling track with enthusiasm and commitment.  We are enjoying the new AKC agility class, FAST, and are working toward the Master FAST title.  Twistee loves hiking, frisbee, and hanging out when her humans are working outdoors.

"Zorro"
CH TriSorts Zorro del Mango, CGC, HIC, RN, RA, Mobility Assistance Service Dog
Owner:Sara Donadei-Blood
“Zorro” or “Bug” as we call him (‘cause he’s cute as a bug!), is just a dream come true – not only has he gotten many accolades in the show ring (Best in Specialty Show, 3 Group Placements so far, ranking him in the Top 10 All Breed in 2006-2007) but he is a working Service Dog, and excels in the various performance venues we try – from Herding to Rally to Schutzhund. His sweet, stable temperament is perfect for Service Work – he makes friends wherever we go, and he is an excellent ambassador for the breed as well as Service Dogs. We look forward to many more years of working together and training in whatever performance venues we choose – Zorro’s always up for a challenge!

We are issuing an invitation to all Malinois, young or old, homebodies or world travelers, rescues, veterans, performance junkies, K9 officers, champions, best friends, any and all Malinois to come and join our parade.  There is no age requirement, but please use your best judgement and do what is best for your Malinois.  This is a chance to showcase your Malinois and share the love you have for your companion with everyone.

A short paragraph about each Malinois will be read as they show everyone how special each and every Malinois is.  Each Malinois entered will receive a lovely rosette with individual dog’s name printed on rosette.  It is a wonderful keepsake from the National and the proceeds help fund this specialty and future ones.

All Honor Parade entries are due April 1, 2007.  Please sign up early and join our parade.  Click here for an entry form.  For more information contact Suzanne Belger at desertmtnmalinois@msn.com
