Versatility Award

The Versatility Award is bestowed at the American Belgian Malinois Club National Specialty Show on that Belgian Malinois which best shows the all-around talents of the breed. The award, $500, is granted to the dog and handler achieving the most points accrued through competition in at least three venues offered at the National Specialty Show.

Registration forms for the Versatility Award will be available at the Specialty Show venue sites. There is a no pre-registration for the Versatility Award. However, the dog must be entered in competition through the trial secretaries for the Show for obedience, agility, herding, and/or conformation (qualifying scores are necessary in at least three of these four venues to qualify for the award). For the conformation venue, the dog must be entered in Working Sweepstakes which was designed to showcase those Malinois with performance and/or working titles.

If there is a conflict with the Sweepstakes judge or the dog is a young dog just beginning its performance career and has earned no titles at the time entries close for the Specialty, regular conformation classes will be substituted for Working Sweeps. A complete description of the points schedule will be listed in the Specialty Catalog.
